The Clay-Colored Thrush and Guaria Morada are the national bird and flower of my home country Costa Rica. The indigenous people of my country believe that when the thrush sings, winter is being announced. The Guaria Morada, a stunning orchid, is known as the purple country girl in English. We believe the flower brings good luck and fortune. It blooms year around. Here, I envision the thrush singing to the orchid to bring in the winter season.
