I went on a walk to think about what to paint for the Lightning Boy Foundation Gala. It was a mostly clear evening with a few grey clouds in the west. I wondered what Valentino would like me to paint. I stopped to take a picture of the beautiful sunset when suddenly a single lightning bolt came out of one of those few clouds above the sunset. At that moment I had my answer. I saw the Lightning Boy painting.
